The COVID-19 pandemic has forced humanity to rethink how we teach and learn. The metaverse, a 3D digital space mixed with the real world and the virtual world, has been heralded as a trend of future education with great potential.
In line with this trend, CLIMA-VERSE aims to create a virtual educational environment for secondary school students (age 14-18). In particular, it aims to sensitize students to climate change and help them face, anticipate and prevent potentially catastrophic situations.
The idea is to create an educational environment in user generate content mode (UGC). Different stages of learning alternate in this environment where students can learn about climate change and work virtually in settings where they can apply the lessons learned. The educational pathway should be designed to support the student gradually in progressively immersive educational environments.
Objectives
The Project’s main objectives are:
- Raising awareness about climate change through immersive experiences.
- Developing innovative green and digital skills for students.
- Equipping educators with tools to personalize the learning journey, helping students anticipate and tackle climate-related challenges.
